Embracing Our Inner Child.
Concept & Story
Our concept is rooted in a simple idea: we were all children once. The world hasn’t changed—only the way we see it has. We wanted to capture that feeling of joy we used to find in small things: playing with a dog, collecting leaves, laughing for no reason. Inspired by our move to Shanghai and the emotional shifts that came with it, we began reflecting on childhood memories and the importance of staying connected to our inner child.
We looked for visual inspiration in nature, warmth, and nostalgia. Though new to the city, we found simple, accessible locations—trees, parks, open spaces—that helped us shape the visual metaphor of growth and rediscovery.
Aesthetics & Results
We used a variety of camera techniques: wide shots for nature, close-ups for emotion, and tracking to add movement. Stable frames captured childhood memories, while slightly shaky, low-shutter shots reflected the main character’s current instability. Indoor scenes were warmed up to avoid cold lighting. Visually, we aimed to contrast adulthood’s heaviness with childhood’s lightness—inviting viewers to reconnect with those quiet, joyful moments they may have forgotten.
